  • The Maritime Transportation Security Act (MTSA): this act requires maritime facilities and vessels to conduct vulnerability assessments and to develop security plans, which include data integrity considerations to ensure that records and data used in the security assessments and plans are reliable. 
  • Union Customs Code (UCC): this regulatory framework aims to modernize customs procedures across the EU member states. It calls for the adoption of electronic systems that ensure the robustness and integrity of data used in customs declarations and controls.

  1. Leverage Technology for Simplified Audits: blockchain and cryptographic technologies simplify the audit process by providing clear, transparent, and verifiable records of data transactions. This makes it easier for companies to undergo compliance checks and for auditors to verify the integrity of the data without the need for extensive manual checks.
